Agent IY

1. What got you into cosplay?
I met some people in my Japanese class in college and expressed an interest in making a costume for Otakon. They'd done it the year before so they offered to help, and now we're all best friends.

2. How do you choose who you will cosplay?
Usually if the character is either badass or totally hot (since I usually crossplay). The main thing is if it's actually do-able, and if I can pull it off. Most of my costumes are characters that I just fell in love with and had to do.

3. How has cosplay affected your life?
It's brought me a larger group of friends than I've ever had. It somehow managed to decrease my self-consciousness, and it has given the artist in me yet another outlet.

4. What keeps you busy outside of conventions?
Work, TV, writing, and trying to publish a book.

5. Do you see yourself continuing to cosplay 5 years or 10 years from now?
Honestly, no. But then again, I'm learning that old habits don't really die. So who knows.

6. What is your dream costume?
It used to be Calintz, but thanks to Lizzy I've done pulled that one off. Right now? Drizzt Do'Urden. Insane? Yes. ^_^ That's why it's a 'dream costume'.

7. What is your favorite costume you've done and why?
I still love IY and Dark. It's a toss up between those two. I put ALOT of work into both of those wigs and people seem to love the costumes. Also, they're comfy! For the most part I can wander around in them all day and not have a problem.

8. Is there any advice you can give for our visitors?
Always put friendship before everything else. Cosplay and conventions are fun, but if you start to take them too seriously it takes all of the fun out of it.

9. What is the hardest part about cosplaying?
They money. Its so freakin' expensive. Other than that, I'd say the planning stage. When you look at something and go "How the hell am I gonna make that happen in 3d?"

10. Who would win in a battle to the death? The King (Burger King) or Ronald McDonald? Why?
Ugh. I hate them both. X_X But I'd say the king. If he can pull a burger out of his ass, I'm sure he's got a few AK's up there too.
