1. What got you
into cosplay?
The Gang Bonanza! I joined the group
in ’02. I met them all at that Otakon and they were dressed as
Digi Charat. I found the whole thing fascinating (Halloween was always
my fav. Holiday.) So that following Katsu was my first cosplay as Photon!
^_^
2. How do you choose who you will cosplay?
It’s all about the character’s themselves. I don’t
really just pick one and go, “Oooh! He looks cool!” Most
of the time anyway. Though the look does enter into it as well. They
are usually really bad ass or really evil characters. Or both.
3. How has cosplay affected your life?
It definitely keeps me busy. And my wallet slim. The major
thing would have to be that it gives me something to look forward to
and work for all year round. It’s also getting me closer to one
of my dreams which has always been the use resin casting and molding.
4. What keeps you busy outside of conventions?
Work keeps me busy most of the time, aside from that there
is drawing, the internet, video games, movies, and books. And hopefully
making my own comic book if all goes well.
5. Do you see yourself continuing to cosplay
5 years or 10 years from now?
Definitely. I have always loved dressing up in costume, since
Elem. School. I’ve just now found an outlet for it. I have so
many characters I want to be and plenty of years to do them, with more
games and anime coming out all the time. I even have characters I want
to cosplay when I am much older, like 50-60. Like Revolver Ocelot and
Gandalf the Grey. ^_^
6. What is your dream costume?
It used to be Gambit, but that has been surpassed by Grey Fox.
The Cyborg Ninja from Metal Gear Solid. This is probably one of the
most difficult and wicked costumes I have ever attempted to take on
and it will be the best. It’s going to be an entirely plastic
Exoskeleton, with electronic openings and lighting. Mmmmmm… With
our new applications of Plastics it’s looking finally looking
feasible!
7. What is your favorite costume you've done
and why?
If we are going off what I’ve done? It would have to
be Casey Jones, or Leon S. Kennedy. Most of my costumes require help,
cause I suck at sewing, but I put together everything on those two costumes,
cept the rocket launcher on Leon. And I am damn proud of them both.
8. Is there any advise you can give for our
visitors?
Plastic is your friend. I love plastic and so will you. Screw
any other medium that you can use for props. Unless it’s way better
to use something else…use plastic!
9. What is the hardest part about cosplaying?
Figuring out how in the hell you can do what your trying to
do. Once you have figured it out it flows together, hopefully. Trial
and error is your friend too.
10. Who would win in a battle to the death?
The King (Burger King) or Ronald McDonald? Why?
I am gonna have to use two answers for this one.
1) Wendy would win! I’ve seen the battle take place! In person!
It was on stage in Universal Studios on Halloween Horror Night, it was
like a pop culture cluster fuck show and Ronald and the King were fighting
and Wendy came out with Ketchup and Mustard guns and kicked their asses!
2) A lot of people probably think, “Cheater! She’s not on
the list!” So I’ll say, number 1 disregarded, that the Burger
King would win. I just recently saw a .gif with his head plastered over
Ed Norton from American History X. He was giving the Hamburgler a curby!
The Burger King would use those kind of tactics. Plus his face is made
of plastic, and plastic is god!
